Greenpeace Mavi has reached the finals of the Kohlapur Mayor's Cup inter-school football competition. Greenpeace defeated Dhambozhi Mavi 1-0 in the semi-final held at Nepalgunj Stadium on Friday.
The goal scored by Viraj Rokay in the 54th minute became decisive. Jhalak Singh, the goalkeeper of Greenpeace, became the player of the match by performing well in the match. He was awarded by Gorakh Bahadur Thapa, Head of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan Education Division.
Modern Public and Hope School protested and both teams were expelled from the competition. Organizers said that Morden and Hope were prosecuted after it was proved that both schools were over 18 years old and played with different player documents. Mankamana School and Brightland School will compete on Saturday for
students. For girls, St. Xavier's and Adarsh Mavi will compete in the final.
