The host The Excelsior School came close to winning the boys futsal under the 11th Excelsior Cup on Thursday. Excelsior reached the finals in the U-14 and U-11 age groups.

In U-14, Excelsior 'Blue' defeated their own 'Red' team by 3-2 goals. Winners Sahilraj Thapa, Nirman Ghimire and Krish Pandey scored 1 each. Ayaz Gole of 'Red' scored 1 goal and one goal was suicide. Excelsior 'Blue' will meet Vidyavani Pathshala in the final. Vidyavani defeated Kathmandu Lincoln 2-0. Both goals were scored by Prajwal Gautam.

Excelsior beat Rye School by 1-0 in U-11. Ojas Pathak scored the goal. Excelsior will face Swastishree Gurukul in the final. Swastishree beat New Zenith by 3-1. Prasin Koirala of Swastishree scored one goal and two goals were suicide. Prajesh Shrestha of New Zenith scored 1 goal.

Bodhisattva and Ribs confirmed the final in U-16. Bodhisattva defeated Swastishree by 4-2 goals. Lakpa Tamang of Bodhisattva scored 2 goals, Nimesh Tamang and Shanta Tamang scored 1 each. Swastishree's Deep Khatri and Vaibhav Tamrakar scored the goals. Ribs registered a 3-1 win over Nisarg Vatika. Rhyson Lama of Ribs scored 2 goals and Aryan Casey scored 1 goal    Aksindas Shrestha of Nisarga Vatika scored a goal. In U-9, Sanskriti defeated Excelsior 2-1 and Rai School defeated Kavya 2-1 to confirm their place in the finals.

Under the Excelsior Cup, Radiant Public defeated Excelsior 50-31 and Valley View defeated LRI 61-25 in the basketball senior boys final. Sushanraj Neupane of Radiant scored 17 and Ganesh Bahadur Bista of Valley View scored 29.

In senior girls, Ribs beat Radiant Public 31-27 and Swarnim beat Excelsior 16-10 to reach the finals. Nimisha Dhami of Ribs scored 15 and Nitisha Maharjan of Swarnim scored 12.
