Faldo Junior Golf: Harmony Advances

On the first day of the Faldo Junior Golf Tour Nepal Championship, Sadbhava Acharya is in the top position. With a score of 1 over 69, Sadbhav is 3 strokes behind Prakrit Tamang in the 17-21 age group.

In the tournament held at the Royal Nepal Golf Club, Nepal's number one amateur golfer Sadbhav birdied the first and seventh holes. In the double bogey of the fifth hole, he finished the front nine in even-par 34 and lost one shot each in the 10th and 14th holes. He birdied the 18th hole to complete the back nine at 1-over 35.

Prakrit ended the day's play with a score of 4 over 72. He finished the front nine at 2-under 32, but then lost his rhythm. Back finished in 6 over 40. Swapnil Bhattarai finished third with a score of 7 over 75.

In the 12-16 years age group, Idantsinh Saud is ahead with a score of 12 over 80. He was behind Dipesh Shrestha by 4 strokes. Dipesh is second with 16 over 86. Siddhant Sapkota finished third with 17 over 87.

Girls 12-21 age group Avani Rai led with 20 over 88. She trailed Anabhadya Malla by 10 strokes. Anbhadya finished second with a 30-over 98.

Among the 31 junior golfers from four provinces, 14 players who scored more than 100 on the first day were eliminated after 18 holes.

The winners of each group will advance to the Faldo Junior Tour Asia Grand Final in La Laguna, Vietnam from April 23 to 25. Nepal's number one amateur golfer Sadbhav has been automatically selected. He was automatically selected because he won the U-21 title at the Faldo Junior Tour European Grand Final held in November.
