The organizers The Excelsior School and Valley View have reached the semi-finals in the basketball senior boys under the 11th Excelsior Cup.
Excelsior defeated Holy Vision by a score of 38-23 at the home court in Swayambhu. Excelsior's Songmen Tamang added 19 points. Ganesh Bahadur Bisht scored 13 as Valley View defeated Whitefield 42-13.
In senior boys, LRI beat Nisharga Batika 49-27 and Radiant Public beat Swarnim 45-16. Ryuchi Shrestha of LRI scored 19 and Ravindra Khatri of Radiant Public scored 15. The girls' quarterfinals will be held on Wednesday. Radiant Public will compete against Landmark Academy, Ribs against LRI, Swarnim against Galaxy Public and Excelsior against Chandbagh.
Boys Futsal's U-9 age group semi-final equation has been completed. Excelsior and Sanskriti and Rai School and Kavya will meet in the semi-finals. In U-11, Excelsior 'Blue', Valley View, Kavya, New Zenith, The Chandbagh, Rai School, Swastishree Gurukul and John Dewey reached the quarterfinals.
In U-14, Excelsior 'Red' and 'Blue', Imperial, Vidyavani Pathshala, Magus, John Dewey, Kathmandu Lincoln and Bodhisattva secured their place in the quarterfinals. In U-16, Nisharga Batika, Radiant, Galaxy, Ribs, New Era, Swastishree, Excelsior 'Hario' and Bodhisattva have reached the quarterfinals.
