The prestigious Faldo Junior Tour Nepal Championship of golf is being held at the Royal Nepal Golf Club from Tuesday. In the 54-hole tournament, junior golfers will compete in three different age groups. Boys (17-21 years and 12-16 years) and Girls (12-21 years) will compete.

Tasi Ghale, president of the Nepal Golf Association informed that the winners of each group will get the opportunity to compete in the Faldo Junior Tour Asia Grand Final to be held in La-Laguna, Vietnam from April 23 to 25. For Boys 17-21 years old, Sadbhava Acharya has been directly invited to the finals, so two people will participate. He is a former winner of the Faldo Junior Tour European Grand Final. 31 junior golfers from four provinces will participate in the

tournament. Nepal's top amateur golfer Sadbhav will also compete in it.

Since 2012, Faldo Junior Tour Nepal Championship has been taking place. The series is part of 6-time major champion Sir Nick Faldo's global junior golf promotion campaign. He has been playing an important role in promoting young talent at the international level through this prestigious series.

Meanwhile, the Nepal Golf Association has honored the title winners of the 38th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship, Sadbhava Acharya and Rahul Vishwakarma.

Sadbhava, who won gold in the individual category, was awarded with 50,000. He is the first Nepali golfer to win this title. Nepal has been participating since the second edition of 1988. Sadbhav won the title by defeating Bangladesh's Safikul Islam and Mohammad Shahabuddin by 5 strokes.

Nepal's number one amateur golfer Sadbhav also won the team title along with Rahul Vishwakarma. Both were honored with 25,000 people. Earlier in 2018 Shukra Bahadur Rai and Tank Bahadur Karki and in 2022 Subas Tamang and Sadbhav Acharya won gold for the team.
