CYC Attaria remained undefeated and won the title of Arjuna Trophy National Cricket Tournament. In the best performance of the bowlers, Attaria defeated Friends Youth Club Dadeldhura by 34 runs in the final on Monday.

 

Dhangadhi, who chose to bat after winning the toss, made a score of 118 runs by losing 9 wickets at the Phapla cricket ground. But after Devrehate spinners Sahab Alam and Dipesh Kandel took 3-3 and Vivek Yadav and Kamal Gupta took 2-2 wickets, Attaria made a comeback and bowled out Dadeldhura for 84 runs in 18 overs.

6 years ago, Attaria won the Dhangadhi Premier League (DPL) cricket title in Fapla. Since then, Attaria has also won the national competition held here for the first time. Along with the title, Attaria received a check of 10 lakhs and the runner-up Dadeldhura received a check of 5 lakhs .

Rashid Khan scored 31 runs from Attaria. He hit 1 four and 3 sixes in 21 balls and was run out in the last over. On the second ball of the match, Ajay Chauhan dismissed Tritraraj Das for a wicket. Santosh Karki and Shankar Rana scored 20 runs each. Captain Santosh played 23 balls with 3 fours and Shankar played 21 balls with 2 fours and 1 six.

Bhim Saraki played 11 balls, 10, Dipesh 7, Vivek Yadav 11, Sandeep Yadav played 8 balls, 12 with 1 four and a six and Kamal Gupta got out with 1 run . Sahab 2 and Nischal KC remained unbeaten in 1 run. Abhishek Gautam took 4 wickets from Dadeldhura. He spent only 15 runs in 4 overs . Ajay Chauhan and Kushal Bhurtel took 1 wicket each.

Player of the final Sahab took 3 important wickets and Dadeldhura came in response and was devastated. Deepesh dismissed Ayushman Bam for a wicket in the second ball of the innings. Sahab dismissed Vinod Bhandari for 5 runs and Kushal for 20 runs. Kushal played 22 balls and hit 2 fours.

Vivek bowled Gajendra Bohra for 24 runs and skipper Sandeep Zora for 5 runs. Gajendra scored the most runs from Dadeldhura and hit 3 fours in 28 balls. Ashok Dhami 11, Kiran Thagunna 3, Abhishek 1, Hemant Dhami and Ravi Bisht were dismissed for 2 runs each. Sahab kept 1 maiden in 4 overs and 8 and Dipesh spent 14 runs in 4 overs .

In the tournament organized by Go Dreamers in memory of coach Arjun Khadka of Dhangadhi region, Attaria won all 3 matches of the group stage and eliminated DCA Dhangadhi in the semi-finals the previous day. Kushal Bhurtel of Dadeldhura, who was playing well individually, was the best bowler and the best batsman . Kushal scored the highest 168 runs and took the highest 13 wickets. Because of that, he got the same 50,000 in both categories .

Attaria's Vivek Yadav was chosen as the player of the series and got 1 lakh. He scored 152 runs and took 10 wickets. Hik Mat Mahara of DCA Dhangadhi got 50,000 as an emerging player. Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba, President of Go Dreamers, Subas Shahi and others awarded prizes to the winners of the 10-day competition. She said that the work of developing Phapla as a sports complex has progressed and that she will discuss the construction of Phapla again with her Indian counterpart during her visit to Oman next week.
