After Japanese player Kaoru Mitoma scored the decisive goal, Brighton beat Chelsea 2-1 on Saturday and with this result, Chelsea has been eliminated from the fourth round of the FA Cup. Since 2018, Chelsea have not won any domestic cup title and this streak will continue this season as well.

Georginio Rutter equalized with an own goal against leading Chelsea. Mitoma scored the winning goal in the 57th minute. Manchester City beat Lyon Orient of the third division by 2-1 with Kevin De Bruyne's winning goal.

Similarly, Newcastle United beat Birmingham 3-2. Everton was defeated by Bournemouth 2-0 in their last FA Cup match played at Goodson Park.
