Kingdom Himalayan and the host Feriland School have won the title of the first Feriland Inter-School Basketball Tournament. Kingdom became champions in junior boys and Ferriland in junior girls.
Kingdom defeated Newton by a score of 35-25 in the junior boys final at the host's court on Sunday. Pravesh Lama of Kingdom scored 16 points. This is the Kingdom's first title in any category. Greenland was third.
In the girls' title match, Fairland beat Buddhist Children's Heaven 27-10. Ferryland's Karuna Bogti added 12 points. This is Ferriland's second title in a span of 9 days. Feriland won the junior girls' title in the first Gyan Sanskar inter-school basketball tournament. Newton Third Done.
Kingdom's Achyut Tamang in junior boys and Renuka Tamang of Ferryland in junior girls were declared 'Most Valuable Player'. Ashish Rai of Newton in Junior Boys and Jasmin Gurung of Buddhist Children's Haven became the highest scorers in Junior Girls. Vishwas Casey from Greenland in Junior Boys and Irene Rana from Newton in Junior Girls were selected as the best three pointers. Gurukul Public in Junior Boys and Manjari in Junior Girls were adjudged as 'Emerging Team'. The
winner was awarded by Mayor Mitharam Adhikari of Budhanilkanth Municipality, Deputy Mayor Anita Lama, Founder Principal of Feriland Vishnu Chandra Adhikari and others.
