Sanyog Kapali of Nepal Police Club and Ivana Thapa Magar of AVM have won gold medals in the first Pushparaj Shakya Memorial Table Tennis Tournament.
In the men's singles final of the tournament organized by the Kholcha Pukhu Sports Committee, Sanyog won the gold by defeating AVM's Sujan Gadal 7-11, 11-4, 11-8, 10-12, 11-6.
Ivana defeated Vianka Rai of AVM in the set of 10-12, 11-8, 12-10, 11-7 in the women's singles final of the competition organized by Lalitpur Metropolitan Ward 11 and managed by Spin Event Pvt Ltd.
Eleven Star Club competed in 6 categories of the competition. Earlier, Purnashankar Shrestha of Men's veteran singles over 60 years, Rajendra Vajracharya of Ikhachen over 50 years and Umesh Manandhar of Kathmandu over 40 years won the gold. Soyam Maharjan was the winner in U-16 of Ward 11.
The top three finishers in men's/women's singles won prizes of 30,000, 15,000 and 7,500 rupees respectively. In four competitions, the first prize was 10,000, the second prize was 5,000 and the third prize was 2,500.
The winner was awarded by Provincial Sports Development Council Bagmati Province Member-Secretary Deepak Lama, Chief Sponsor Ward 11 Chairman Aroj Kumar Khadgi and others. 150 players participated in the three-day tournament.
