Gurukul and Himalaya reached the quarterfinals of the first Feriland inter-school basketball tournament in junior boys on Thursday.

Gurukul defeated Manjari 20-14. Rubal Ghale scored 6 in Gurukul's win. With the help of Sulan Shrestha's 6 scores, Himalaya defeated Fusion Academy 27-17.

In the same event, Bashundhara National Academy (BNA) defeated the host Feriland International School 26-16 and Greenland defeated Reliance Co-Ed 23-18 to secure a place in the quarterfinals. Kushal Thapa of BNA scored 11.

In junior girls, Buddhist Children's Heaven beat BNA 26-20, Newton beat Pick Point 27-18, Ferryland beat Greenland 39-29, and Apex Life beat Brainland 22-18 to advance to the quarterfinals. Jasmin Gurung of Buddh scored 12, Irene Rana of Newton scored 11, Khushbu Magar of Ferryland scored 15 and Jessica Sarkar of Apex Life scored 6.
