The National Sports Council is going to handle the association differently in the Nepal Olympic Committee elections.

In this regard, Rakhep informed through a press conference on Thursday that the decision was taken at the board meeting held on the 22nd of January.

Council has instructed the National Sports Association, which participated in the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) election, to submit an explanation with reasonable reasons within three days.

Unions participated in the NOC election conducted online on 13th of January, ignoring the instructions of Rakhep.

The Rafting and Canoe, Basketball, Archery, Volleyball, Ski, Judo, Golf and Boxing Associations, which held periodic elections, have disobeyed the council's terms and conditions and have disobeyed the explanation. If the answer is not satisfactory, Rakhep said that if they give a chance with a three-day deadline, the related sports association's bank account will be frozen, officials will be banned from participating abroad, and the use of government physical infrastructure will be increased.

Weightlifting, Cycling, Badminton, Gymnastics and Tennis Associations have not held their periodic elections, member secretary Tanklal Ghising said that the action process will be taken forward with an explanation. Contrary to the instructions of the council for the implementation of the interim order of the court, an explanation has been sought as to why the official should not be recommended for action as per section 15 and 16 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059, in the name of the National Sports Association, when he is not in position and responsibility according to the law. Among them are Chaturananda Rajvaidya of table tennis, Lakpa Chiring Lama of Usuka, Ashokaratna Bajracharya of swimming, Samim Mian Ansari of wrestling and Tej Bahadur Chandra of handball.
