Bandegaon's Buddha Mavi has won the title of the second edition of Godavari Municipality level inter-school seven A side football tournament.
Buddha Mavi won the Godavari Nagar school level tournament for the second time by defeating Lele's Amarkranti Mavi 4-2 in the final at the Vinayak Sports Complex on Thursday. In Buddha's victory, Sachin Tamang scored 2 goals, Raj Ghimire and Pramesh Thing scored 1 each. Jigarjung Silwal scored both goals from Amarkranti. The
winner got 50,000 and the runner-up got 25,000. Bipin Marhajan of Ganga Jamuna School was the best player in the competition organized by Shree Gyankund Youth Club. Suman Thiruwa of Buddha Mavi was awarded the best goalkeeper, while Karma Tamang of Saraswati Mavi Lele received the emerging player award. Saraswati Mavikai Utsav Nagarkoti became the all-time scorer.
Mayor of Godavari Municipality Gajendra Marhajan awarded the prize to the winning player.
