Former champions New Road Team (NRT) have entered the finals of the 25th edition of the International Invitational Budhasubba Gold Cup Football Tournament.

In the second semi-final held on Thursday, NRT came close to the title after defeating United Kharsang Football Club UKFC by 3-1 goal difference. Pradeep Budhathoki scored two goals to bring NRT closer to the title. Shishir Lekhi added a goal. 

In the 28th minute of the match at Dharan Stadium, NRT took the lead through Shishir's goal and scored a goal after three minutes. After Hemraj Bhujel of UKFC scored in the 31st minute, the match was tied at 1-1. 

After Pradeep scored in the 45th minute, NRT took a 2-1 lead in the first half. In the 76th minute of the match, after Pradeep himself scored his second personal goal through Shishir's pass, NRT won 3-1. Shishir was declared the man of the match and won 10,000 in cash. 

Today's winner NRT will compete against Church Boys in the final on Saturday for the title. The winner of the Gold Cup will receive a prize of 10 lakh rupees and the runner-up will receive a prize of 5 lakh rupees.
