Budhasubba Gold Cup: Church Boys and Bhutanese team compete in the first semi-final

The semi-final matches of the 25th edition of the International Invitational Budhasubba Gold Cup football tournament in Dharan are starting today.

In the first semi-final today, RTC Football Club of Bhutan and A Division League Champion Church Boys United will compete. The match will start at 3:30 PM at Dharan Stadium. 

Church boys defeated the departmental team Nepal Police Club in the quarter-finals and are about to play the semi-finals. The Bhutanese team defeated National Awareness Club Itahari and confirmed the semi-final clash with Church Boys. 

In the second and final semi-final on Thursday, former winners New Road Team NRT and India's United Kharsang Football Club UK FC will play. NRT has entered the semi-finals after defeating Kakdvitta Football Training Center of Jhapa by 3-1 in the last quarter-final match. 

UKFC defeated the host Dharan Football Club and confirmed the semi-final meeting with NRT. The final match will be held on Saturday. The winner of the Gold Cup will receive a prize of Rs 10 lakh and the runner-up will receive a prize of Rs 5 lakh.
