Nepal Police Club, the most successful and experienced team in Aha-Rara Pokhara Gold Cup football, has started the 24th edition with victory. The police have set a trip to the quarterfinals by shocking the host Sahara Club 1-0 at the Pokhara Stadium on Tuesday.
With the help of Ujjwal Rai's goal in the opening match, six-time title winners Police reached the quarterfinals. Ujjwal took advantage of the corner in the 37th minute of the game and gave Police the lead.
His left-footed shot from near the second bar was converted into a fine goal. He was declared player of the match. He has previously played for Jhapa-11 and has been associated with the police for two years.
