Nepal's captain Pooja Mahato has been included in the list of the best 12 players of the ICC Women's U-19 Twenty20 World Cup. Pooja is the only player from the associate region in the 'Team of the Tournament' announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday.

Pooja took 9 wickets in the tournament held in Malaysia. He took those wickets in the matches up to the group stage. Also, Pooja scored 70 runs at an average of 20.33. After he took 4 wickets and scored 23 unbeaten runs, Nepal won the consolation match by defeating Malaysia by 7 wickets in the playoff match.

After losing to Bangladesh by 5 wickets, Scotland by 1 wicket and Australia by 83 runs in the group stage, Nepal failed to reach the second stage. In the final of the tournament concluded on Sunday, India defeated South Africa by 9 wickets and became the champion. India's highest number of 4 players made it to the 'Team of the Tournament'. It also has Gongadi Trisha. Chosen as the best player, she scored the most 309 runs. The other three players are G Kamalini, Ayushi Shukla and Vaishnavi Sharma. South Africa's Kayla Reineke has been selected as the captain.
