After defeating the host Dharan Football Club, United Kharsang Football Club UKFC entered the semi-finals of the 25th edition of the International Invitational Budhasubba Gold Cup.

In the second quarter-final at Dharan Stadium on Sunday, the visiting team United Khursang Football Club secured a place in the semi-finals by defeating the host Dharan Football Club by 7-6 in sudden death. After both teams tied 1-1 at the scheduled time, due to lack of time, the decision of the match was taken directly from the penalty shootout. After both teams scored 5-5 in the penalty shootout, the game was pushed to sudden death. Manoj Rai of Dharan missed a shot in the sudden death and Hemraj Bhujel of UKFC hit the net and the visiting team managed to secure a place in the semi-finals. Before that, UKFC took the lead with Bhujel's goal in the 18th minute of the scheduled time. But in the 40th minute of the match, the game was tied at 1-1 after Vinod Rai of the host club returned the goal. In the first half, the match was pushed to sudden death through penalty shootout after both teams could not score a goal in the second half. 

Bhujel, who scored the decisive goal in Sedan Death, was declared the man of the match. He received a cash prize of 10,000. The winners UKFC will compete in the semi-finals on Thursday against the winner of the last quarter-final match between Newroad Team NRT and Kakadvita Football Tanning Center Jhapa on Tuesday.

With Sunday's win, UKFC has avenged the defeat against the host Dharan Football Club in the 24th edition. In the last edition, UKFC lost to the hosts in sudden death by 10-9. But in the opening match of the 23rd edition, UKFC defeated the host Dharan Football Club by 5-3 in the penalty shootout.

In the third quarter-final on Monday, RTC Football Club of Bhutan and Rashtriya Jagruti Club of Itahari will compete.
