Saraswati Secondary School Nisdi-5, Kathaidanda won the title of the 6th President's Running Shield competition at Nisdi Rural Municipality level.
Saraswati won the title with 13 medals including 8 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze in the competition held at Jhyaltung of Nisdi Rural Municipality-4, Mityal. With 13 medals including 6 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze, Janata Secondary School Nisdi-5, Dhunganabensi came second. Balhit Secondary School Nisdi-2, Sahalkot has been third with 7 medals including 2 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze.
Balmaitri Focal Person Kusmakhar Pandey said that 12 secondary schools within Nisdi Rural Municipality are participating in the competition including 9 male and 9 female categories. Shields, medals, trophies and certificates were distributed to the students who won the competition by Rajuprasad Shrestha, Chairman of Lumbini Province Finance, Industry and Tourism Committee, Mukt Bahadur Saru, Chairman of Nisdi Rural Municipality, Toynarayan Subedi, Chief District Officer, Mekh Bahadur Sunari, Spokesperson of Vice Chairman Tirankumari Shrestha and others.
Lumbini State Assembly member Shrestha said that sports teach discipline and teamwork. Chief District Officer Toynarayan Subedi said that students should pay attention to academic progress along with sports.
