Nepal played top-line batsman Mamta in place of medium-pace bowler Ishwari Bista . Nepal gave Alisa and Manisha a 'debut' in the previous match. But Manisha, who took the most 10 wickets in the Prime Minister's Cup held last week in Dhangadhi, was not able to bowl in the match against the Netherlands.

Nepal was defeated by 20 runs against the Netherlands in the first match on Thursday. Thailand defeated the Netherlands by 8 wickets on Friday. Nepal has not been able to defeat Thailand since 2011.

In 2019, Nepal has been defeated in all the three matches it has played against Thailand since it received Twenty/20 international recognition. Thailand, which has played the Twenty/20 World Cup, is coming to Nepal for the first time.
