Nepal's hard-fought defeat against Thailand

After Nanapat Koncharonekai scored her second consecutive fifty, Thailand defeated Nepal by 4 wickets in the triangular Women's Twenty20 cricket series on Saturday.

After Koncharonekai scored an unbeaten 60 runs, Thailand completed the target of 102 runs with 6 balls to spare. She scored an unbeaten 56 in the previous day's match against the Netherlands and hit 5 fours in 58 balls.

Suwanan Khieto scored 14 runs and captain Naruimol Chaivai scored 13 runs. Manisha Upadhyay took 2 wickets from Nepal. Bowling for the first time in international cricket, she spent 13 runs in 4 overs. Kavita Kunwar, Ruveena Chhetri and Kavita Joshi took 1 wicket each.

This is Thailand's second consecutive victory. Thailand defeated the Netherlands by 8 wickets on Friday. This is the second defeat in a row for Nepal. The Netherlands defeated Nepal by 20 runs on Thursday. Nepal will play against Netherlands on Sunday.

Earlier, Nepal won the toss and decided to bat first at the University Cricket Ground Kirtipur.

Nepal has not been able to defeat Thailand since 2011. In 2019, Nepal has been defeated in all the three matches it has played against Thailand since it received international Twenty20 international recognition.
