Purvanchal College has won the title of Hisan Anfa Sunsari Cup inter-school football tournament. Purvanchal scored a 1-0 victory over Sushma College in the final held on Friday at Budhasubba Stadium in Itahari Taltalaiya.
The goal scored by Sijal Rai in the 5th minute of the second half became decisive. Along with the title, Purvanchal received 30,000 in cash. Sushma College, which became the runner-up, received Rs. 15,000. Kailash Bhujel from Purvanchal, who became the player of the final, received 1000 rupees in cash.
The best player and highest scorer was Sijal Rai. He received 8,000 cash prizes for being the best and 8,000 including 3,000 for the top scorer. Sumit Rai of East Zone was declared the best goalkeeper, Saksha Pradhan the best midfielder and Sajivan Rai the best coach. Devraj Shrestha of Sushma College was declared the best forward and Yusan Rai was declared the best defender. They each got Rs 2,000 in cash.
Hisan Central Advisor Lekhnath Ghimire, Sunsari President Sagar Bhattarai, Secretary Subhash Luintel, ANFA Sunsari Senior Vice President Bheshraj Karki, General Secretary Kovidjung Karki, member Prakash Koirala and others distributed prizes to the winning players. All Nepal Football Association ANFA Sunsari and Higher Secondary Schools Association Hisan Sunsari jointly organized the competition which was held from January 12th, 23 secondary schools of Sunsari participated.
