According to the organizers, the preparations for the Arjuna Trophy National Cricket Tournament, which will start from Saturday at Phapla Cricket Ground in Dhangadhi, have been completed. Four pitches have been constructed for the tournament matches included in the annual calendar of the Nepal Cricket Association. Necessary infrastructure has been prepared, including connecting temporary parafits for spectators.
The opening match will be between DCA Dhangadhi and Friends Club Dadeldhura. To facilitate the spectators in the tournament, the Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city is going to operate a city bus service from Dhangadhi to Phapla International Cricket Ground. The city bus has said that the city bus will operate every 20 minutes from Campus Road in Dhangadhi on one route through the main road and from Campus Chowk through the outer area of the main road on another route.
The announcement of one lakh cash prize to the audience who catches the first six will also add to the attraction of the audience in the competition. 8 teams participating in
are divided into two groups. DCA Dhangadhi, Friends Youth Club Dadeldhura, Ghodaghodi-11 Sukkhad and Boston Cricket Jhapa are in Group 'A' and CYC Attaria, Cricket Excellence Center Kathmandu, New Horizon Butwal and Dashrath Chand Academy Baitadi are in Group 'B'. Nepali national cricket team players are playing from different clubs in the
competition. The tournament was organized in memory of cricket coach Arjun Khadka, said Subas Shahi, chairman of the organizer Go Dreamers. According to the organizers, a cash prize of 20 lakhs will be awarded in the Arjuna Trophy.
