FM Rupesh Jaiswal and Sindira Joshi came close to the title when the eighth round of the National Intelligence Competition was completed in Hetaunda.
In the 25th men's national intelligence match, former Nepalese champion Jaiswal tied with young Purushottam Silwal before defeating CM Naveen Tanduka. Rautahat's Jaiswal has managed to increase his personal rating of 33.8 by performing an excellent 2305 rating performance in the ongoing competition. He started the game with 2093 rating. In the competition, FM Kshitij Bhandari, Purushottam Silwal of Kathmandu and Rajan Subedi of Jhapa jointly occupied the second place by scoring 5.5 points.
Kshitij from Makwanpur has increased his rating by 6.5 by playing a game of 2091 rating level. Up-and-coming Purushottam has increased 22 ratings by playing 2090 level matches. The current Nepal champion Rajan has managed to increase his personal rating to 32.8 out of 2135 ratings.
CM Shushrut Dahal is in third place with 5 points in the last three rounds. Ashish Phuyal of Dolakha and FM Rijendra Rajbhandari of Kathmandu have secured the fourth position by adding 4.5 points.
In the 10th Women's National Intelligence Competition, the current Women's National Champion, Sindira Joshi, has advanced towards the title again with an excellent performance. Sindira from Kathmandu has played five wins and three draws while adding 6.5 points. Emerging players Isha Giri of Banke and Angel Maharjan of Kathmandu have scored 6 points each. Young player Isha played one loss, five wins and two draws while getting joint second place. Young Angel has lost two matches and has tasted victory in six matches.
Morang's Shanti Dhimal registered one loss, one draw and 5 wins in 5 matches and managed to stay in the third place with 5.5 points. Vinita Kapali of Kirtipur Kathmandu has raised the possibility by winning three matches and losing five games.
