The Netherlands defeated Nepal by 20 runs in the triangular Women's Twenty20 series on Thursday. Nepal, which entered the field with a target of 158 runs, lost 7 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs and managed to score only 137 runs.

Sita Ranamar from Nepal scored the highest 28 runs. She played 45 balls and hit 3 fours. Kavita Joshi scored 27 with 1 four and 2 sixes in 17 balls, Pooja Mahato scored 24 with 2 fours and a six in 14 balls, Ruveena Chhetri scored 11 runs. Jakjan Khadka 9, captain Indu Verma 7, Kavita Kunwar were dismissed for 8 runs.

Bindu Rawal 3 and debutant Alisha Yadav remained unbeaten in 4 runs. From Netherlands, Eva Lynch took 30 runs in 4 overs and Caroline De Lange took 2 wickets each with 36 runs in 4 overs.

The Netherlands, who were invited to bat after losing the toss, scored 157 runs after losing 4 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs in Robin Rijke's half-century.

Kavita Kunwar gave Nepal a great start by dismissing Phebe Molkenboer lbw on the second ball of the innings. Pooja Mahato bowled Netherlands captain Babette De Leede for 6 runs and tried to dominate Nepal in the game.

But Stere Kallis and Rijke improved the innings of the Netherlands by sharing 47 runs for the third wicket. Kalis was bowled by Sita Ranamar for 29 runs. Rijke and Heather Seegers shared a partnership of 54 runs for the fourth wicket. Siggers played 19 balls and scored 23 runs with 1 four and a six. Rizke scored 57 runs and remained unbeaten. She played 47 balls and hit 8 fours. Another unbeaten batsman Iris Willing scored 31 runs off 13 balls. She hit 5 fours. Netherlands added 62 runs in the last 5 overs.
