Asma Vick of Rolpa won the 4th Open Vyas Nagar Women's Half Marathon title. On Wednesday, from Vyas-3 Vyasgufa to Vyas-11 Tanahunsur, she covered the distance of 21 km in 1 hour 57 minutes 34 seconds and won the title.

Lakpa Nima Sherpa of Okhaldhunga came second and Vimala Tamang of Udaipur came third in the competition organized by Beas Municipality on the occasion of Martyrs' Day. They completed the distance in 2 hours 4 minutes 53 seconds and 2 hours 12 minutes 38 seconds respectively.

Namrata Gurung of Vyas-10, Sandhya Adhikari of Vyas-4, Asmita Thapa of Vyas-4, Sangeeta Ranabhat of Vyas-3 and Yuna Majkoti of Vyas-11 won the consolation places. 

In the competition where 33 players participated, the champion got 41 thousand 81 rupees, the second one got 31 thousand 81 rupees and the third one got 21 thousand 81 rupees. 5 people who will be consoled were rewarded with 11 thousand 81 rupees in cash.

Municipality used to organize an ultra marathon of 44 kilometers on January 16 every year. This year, the women's half marathon was held instead of the ultra marathon.

Ved Vyasa's birth place, Parasar Rishi's Tapo Bhoomi Damauli and historical place Tanahunsur, the marathon was organized with the aim of promoting it through sports, said Baikunth Neupane, the city head of Vyasa.
