In the national chess competition, Kshitij Bhandari of Makwanpur and Sushrut Dahal of Jhapa are joint second with 3.5 points. FIDE Master Kshitij defeated Candidate Master Naveen Tandukar from Kathmandu and CM Sushrut defeated Vinay Thapa from Bhaktapur.
Dolakha's Ashish Phuyal, Kathmandu's Purushottam Silwal and FM Rijendra Rajbhandari are joint third with 3 points. At the end of the fifth game of the 10th Women's National Intelligence, the current women's champion Sindira Joshi has taken the lead by adding 4.5 points. National women's champion Sindira has won 4 matches and tied one match.
