FM Rupesh Jaiswal has taken the lead by scoring four and a half points in the fifth round of the 25th Men's National Intelligence Competition being held in the hall of Hotel Saamna. Rupesh from Rautahat defeated the current Nepal champion Rajan Subedi from Jhapa.

In the national chess competition, Kshitij Bhandari of Makwanpur and Sushrut Dahal of Jhapa are joint second with 3.5 points. FIDE Master Kshitij defeated Candidate Master Naveen Tandukar from Kathmandu and CM Sushrut defeated Vinay Thapa from Bhaktapur.

Dolakha's Ashish Phuyal, Kathmandu's Purushottam Silwal and FM Rijendra Rajbhandari are joint third with 3 points. At the end of the fifth game of the 10th Women's National Intelligence, the current women's champion Sindira Joshi has taken the lead by adding 4.5 points. National women's champion Sindira has won 4 matches and tied one match.

Angel Maharjan of Kathmandu, who suffered the first loss, is in second place with 4 points. He has 4 wins and 1 loss. Vinita Kapali from Kathmandu is in joint second place with 4 points. He has won 4 matches. Banke's Isha Giri and Morang's Shanti Dhimal are joint third with 3.5 points. Both players had 3 wins and 1 draw.
