The Krishna Prasad Bhattarai Memorial Karate Tournament will be held in the third week of February. With the technical support of the Nepal Karate Federation and the main sponsorship of the Godavari Municipality, District Head Dojo Lagankhel will organize the competition from February 16 to 18 at the Nepal Karate Academy in Satdobato.

In the competition included in the annual calendar of the Karate Federation, men's 50, 55, 60, 75, 84 kg and above 84 kg and individual and team kata competitions will be held. Similarly, on the women's side, weight groups under 45, 55, 61, 65, 68 kg and above 68 kg have been included along with single and team kata. 7 provincial and 3 departmental teams will participate in the

competition. Each team will have 21 players, 1 coach and 1 manager. Deepak Shrestha, the chairman of the organizing dojo, informed that the estimated budget of the competition is 55 lakh rupees. The

winner will receive 1 lakh and the runner-up will receive 50,000 rupees along with a trophy. The best male and female players will get 25,000 each. The fair play team will be awarded a trophy and budding female and male players will be awarded a gold medal along with IF recognized combo gi (garment). According to the prior agreement between

organizers and Godavari Municipality to sponsor, the agreement letter was signed on Monday for the fourth edition. Deepak Shrestha, chairman of the organizing dojo, and Gajendra Maharjan, mayor of Godavari municipality, signed the agreement. The main sponsor, Godavari Municipality, will provide 20 lakh rupees.
