Host Our Itahari Vetran Club won the 5th Invitational Itahari Vetran Gold Cup Football title. Despite reaching the finals, Itahari got the opportunity to compete for the title after TWYC Veteran Club of Biratnagar lost the protest and defeated our Rajarani Veteran Club of Dhankuta by 4-3 in penalty shootout.

Biratnagar, which defeated Itahari 2-0 in the semi-final, was declared ineligible to play the final after it was confirmed that it played a player under the age of 40 and played another player in one name.

The decision was taken directly from the penalty shootout after both teams drew 1-1 on the field of Janata Multipurpose Campus in Itahari on Saturday. Denim Rai, Anup Sherpa, Harkaraj Gurung and Surendra Tamang scored from Itahari in the penalty shootout.

Kamal Basnet's shot was wasted. Only Krishna Shakya, Sachin Rai and Bhupen Limbu scored for Rajarani. Mitra Basnet's shot was blocked by Itahari goalkeeper Tulsi Shrestha, while Santosh Basnet's shot hit the post and returned. The best player was Krishna Shakya of Rajarani.

Sachin Rai forward, Itahari's Sunil Tamang goalkeeper, Diwas Rai defender, Denim Rai midfielder and Leelaram Magar excelled in coaching. Man of the match was Itahari's alternate goalkeeper Tulsi Shrestha.
