The team of Prof. Sanjay Lama has won the Pro-Am title of Western Open, the fourth tournament of this season under Surya Nepal Golf Tour on Saturday.
Sanjay's team became the winner by adding a total score of 148. Pro Sanjay scored 34, young amateur Daniel Banian scored 39, Dipsan Lama and Manish Sherchan scored 36.
Pro Jairam Shrestha's team finished second with a total score of 135. Jairam scored 35, amateur Leelajung Gurung scored 34, Shyam Tamang and Vishwa Gurung scored 33. Prof. Bhuvan Nagarkoti's team finished third with 130 points. While Bhuvan scored 34, amateur golfers Rajendra Gauchan, Balram Thapa and Raju Thakali scored 32-32.
Geeta Gurung made an excellent card on the women's side. She scored 30. Pemba Sherma won the title of longest drive and Balram Thapa won the title of closest to the pin. 90 players including 20 professional golfers participated in the
Pro-Am event. Senior Vice President of Nepal Golf Association Pavitra Kumar Karki, Director of Himalayan Golf Course Kiran KC, President of Gandaki Pradesh Golf Association Indradhara Bista and President of Kaski Golf Association Jeevaram Gurung presented the prizes to the winning players.
The previous day, Neeraj Tamang won the title of Surya Nepal Western Open.
