The Nepal Intellectual Federation has announced that preparations for the 25th Men's and 10th Women's National Intelligence Competition have been completed.

Dharam Bahadur Lama, the coordinator of the tournament, which will be held from Sunday until January 19 at Hotel Samaman in Hetouda, has said. In the

competition, according to the predetermined format, the top 3 players of the Senior National Championship and the best 9 players selected from the National B Watt will compete in 11 stages.

In the men's Nepal champion, Rajan Subedi, Sushrut Dahal and Kshitij Bhandari who were second and third respectively, National B Watt selection Purushottam Silwal, Ashish Phuyal, FM Rupesh Jaiswal, Vinay Thapa, Suroj Maharjan, Dhiren Rai, CM Naveen Tandukar and FM Rijendra. Rajbhandari will compete .

In women's side, Sindira Joshi, Kritisara Adhikari, Vinita Kapali along with Lakshmi Kandel, Isha Giri, Shanti Dhimal, Danisa Puri, Sushila Gurung, Poonam Prasain, Angel Maharjan, Nihana Shrestha and Nayuma Magar will compete.

The winning player will be awarded the Asian Zonal Championship to be held in Sri Lanka from May 10 to 19, 2025,  It will participate in the Asian Continental in Dubai and Chess Olympiad in Uzbekistan in 2026.

International arbiter Yagya Prasad Pant has been given the responsibility of the chief judge for the national competition, while a team of FIDE arbiter Soraj Tamrakar, FA Mission Dahal, FA Sandeep Dhimire and NA Ramila Pokharel will be appointed.

Herakazi Maharjan, the president of the Nepal Intellectual Federation, informed that the official competition organized by the federation will be completed by December according to the English calendar.

The Federation of Intelligence has stated that the estimated cost of completing the national competition will be 24 lakh 50 thousand . It has been said that the competition is going to be held in collaboration with the Bagmati Sports Development Council and the local level.
