The 9th Krishnadhwaj Memorial Table Tennis Tournament is going to start from this 15th of January. Suraj KC, head of organizer Red Tiles, informed that the tournament will be conducted from January 15th to 18th at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lanchaur.
According to him, a total of 11 competitions including eight for schools, two for colleges and one for veterans have been included in the competition. He said, "In the eighth edition, 390 players competed. This year, around 350 players are expected to participate as they are affected by the school exams.
Veterans have been included in the competition for the first time, in which the over 40-year-old competition has been held. The winner of Veteran will get Rs 10,000, the runner-up will get Rs 5,000 and the third runner-up will get Rs 3,000. There will be competition in men's singles and ladies' singles on the college side. On the school side, U-10, U-12, U-14 and U-16 competitions are included in both boys and girls. According to the organizer, players from Darjeeling and Butwal will also participate in the school. It is estimated that four lakh rupees will be spent for conducting the
competition.
