Paramount Academy and Newton got off to a winning start in the first Gyan Sanskar inter-school basketball tournament.

In junior boys, Paramount defeated host Gyan Sanskar by a score of 27-20 on their own court. Paramount's Sushant Thapa scored 6. Newton got a 30-23 victory over Nature Math thanks to Ashish Rai's 10 points.

In the junior boys, Angels Hart beat White Mountain 39-24, Culture Fusion Academy 25-14, HHCA beat Eden Bridge Academy (EBA) 30-25, Valley Public defeated Kingdom 34-24 and Greenland defeated Spring by 24-15. Angels Heart's Akash Ghale scored 16, Sanskriti's Adhyaya Thakuri scored 11, HHCA's Vishal Nagarkoti scored 18, Valley Public's Ashok Vishwakarma scored 13 and Greenland's Rahul Thagunna scored 11.

In junior girls, TIA defeated Angels National 10-5, Buddhist Children's Heaven defeated Greenland 41-33, KVKSS defeated Gyan Sanskar 16-10, EBA defeated Ribs 9-3 and Valley Public defeated Newton 19-15. Shubshree Suman of TIA scored 8, Jasmin Gurung of Buddh scored 16, Khushi Mitok of KVKSS scored 8, Anamika Patel of EBA scored 5 and Sonmaya Tamang of Valley Public scored 9.

General Secretary of Nepal Basketball Association Narendra Thapa and Principal of Gyan Sanskar Neelam Baniyan Badu jointly inaugurated the tournament. There are 24 teams competing in junior boys and 16 teams competing in girls.
