The schedule of the Arjuna Trophy national cricket tournament, which is going to be conducted at Phapla Cricket Ground in Dhangadhi, has been announced. According to Go Dreamers, the schedule was announced on Thursday, dividing the eight teams that will participate in the competition into two groups.
DCA Dhangadhi, Friends Yuva Club Dadeldhura, Ghodaghodi-11 Sukhkhad Kailali and Boston Cricket Jhapa are in Group 'A' of the tournament which will be held from January 19. Group 'B' consists of CYC Attaria, Dashrath Chand Academy Baitadi, Cricket Excellence Center Kathmandu and New Horizon Bootball. Under the
competition, the opening match between DCA Dhangadhi and Friends Youth Club Dadeldhura will be held on January 19, Go Dreamers President Subas Shahi informed. According to him, the first semi-final will be played on January 26, the second semi-final on January 27 and the final on January 28. In the first semi-final match, there will be a match between the winner of group 'A' and the runner-up of group 'B' to enter the final. In the second semi-final, the winner of group 'B' and the runner-up of group 'A' will play for entry to the final. "All the matches of the competition will be held at Phapla Cricket Ground in Dhangadhi," said Shahi.
The competition is going to be organized in memory of late cricket coach Arjun Khadka. A cash prize of around 20 lakhs will be awarded in the Arjuna Trophy. As a running trophy, the winner of the Twenty20 format tournament will get a trophy with cash of 10 lakhs and the runner-up with cash of 5 lakhs. One lakh cash will be awarded to the best player of the tournament. Best batsman, best bowler and emerging player will get 50/50 thousand. 10,000 cash will be awarded to the man of the match of each game.
