The first Gyan Sanskar inter-school basketball tournament is starting on Friday.
24 teams will participate in junior boys and 16 teams will participate in junior girls, informed the principal of Gyan Sanskar, Neelam Baniyan Badu in a press conference on Thursday. The league will be divided into 8 groups for boys and 4 groups for girls and will be played on a knockout basis. In boys, the top 2 teams from each group will advance to the pre-quarterfinals. The winners and runners-up of each group of girls will advance to the quarterfinals. The most valuable player, the best three pointer and the highest scorer will be awarded in the
categories. Competition coordinator Purna Neupane informed that about 3 lakh rupees will be spent to conduct the competition. Only students studying up to class 7 will be allowed to participate in the competition.
Principal Badu said, 'Currently, our school teaches up to class 7. That is why we have included only junior competitions. Every year we increase the class. Accordingly, we will change the structure of the competition. The game of the
competition will be played on the organizer's own court. The finals of the competition will last until January 18.
