Departmental teams Tribhuvan Army Club and Bagmati Province reached the semi-finals after winning the Prime Minister's Cup Women's Twenty20 National Cricket Tournament at Fapla Cricket Ground on Tuesday. In the first match, Army defeated Koshi Pradesh by 9 wickets.
Chasing a target of 37 runs, Army lost one wicket in 6.2 overs. Jakkan Khadka scored 32 runs. Before that, Koshi, who was invited to bat after losing the toss, scored 36 runs losing 5 wickets in a match shortened to 7 overs due to bad weather. Apart from Smriti Katuwal who added 14 runs, others could not score double digit runs. Manisha Chaudhary took 3 wickets and Sushmita Bhusal took 2 wickets from Army.
In the last match of the group stage, Bagmati won by 7 wickets against Madhesh Pradesh. Bagmati completed the target of 41 runs by losing 3 wickets in 6.4 overs. Yashu Pandey scored 19 runs. Rosi Kadari of Madhesh took 2 wickets. Before that, Madhesh lost the toss and scored 40 runs in 15.5 overs. No one from Madhesh could score runs in double figures. Bagmati's Kanchan Shrestha took 4 wickets and Vipisha Shahi took 2 wickets.
Although the three teams of 'B' group had 4-4 points, based on net run rate, Army group and Bagmati progressed as runners-up, while Koshi province came out weak due to poor run rate. Defeated in three matches, Madhesh Pradesh went out with no points. From Group A, APF and home team Sudurpaschim Province have reached the last four.
