Tribhuvan Army Club and Koshi Pradesh got off to a good start in the Prime Minister's Cup Women's Twenty20 national cricket tournament at Phapla Cricket Ground in Dhangadhi. Both of them won their first match as the 'B' group matches started on Sunday. Koshi beat Bagmati Pradesh by 10 runs.
Bagmati, who had set a target of 64 runs in the match which was shortened to 13 overs due to anger, were reduced to 53 runs in 12.1 overs. From Bagmati, Savika Yadav added 20 runs and Vipisha Shahi added 12 runs. Koshi's Rubina Chhetri, Jyoti Danuwar and Sangeeta Rai took 2 wickets each.
Nisha Shah took 1 wicket. Before that, Koshy, who was invited to bat after losing the toss, scored 63 runs by losing 7 wickets in the scheduled 13 overs. Vimala Malah scored 19 runs and captain Rubina Chhetri scored 15 runs. Manisha Upadhyay took 4 wickets with a hat-trick for Bagmati. Sanskriti Phuyal, Bipasha Shahi and Pooja Saud took 1 wicket each.
Army defeated Madhesh Pradesh by 10 wickets at Fapla Maidan on Sunday. Army completed the small target of 26 runs given by Madhesh without losing any wicket in 2.5 overs. In the victory of the Army, Jakan Khadka scored 22 runs and Anjali Vishwakarma scored 4 runs. After winning the toss, Madhesh scored only 25 runs after losing all the wickets in 15.2 overs.
Apart from Bhumi Singh scoring 10 runs from Madhesh, other batsmen could not score runs in double figures. Army's Asma Pulami Magar took hat-trick wickets. Manisha Chaudhary and Lakshmi Saud took 2-2 and Sita Shahi and Ishwari Bista took 2-1 wickets. This is Army's debut match in domestic women's cricket. From Group A, Sudurpaschim Province and APF have reached the Super Four.
