PM Cup Cricket: APF and Sudurpaschim in 'Super Four'

Nepal APF Club and Sudurpaschim Province have reached the Super Four of the Prime Minister's Cup Women's T20 national cricket tournament in Dhangadhi.

APF defeated Sudurpaschim by 59 runs on Saturday at Fapla Cricket Ground. APF reached Super Four with 7 points remaining unbeaten. Despite the first loss, Sudurpaschim reached the last four with 6 points. Lumbini, Gandaki and Karnali provinces in group 'A' have been eliminated.

Gandaki and Karnali did not win a single match while Lumbini won two matches. One match each of the three teams was canceled due to rain. In the group stage, Lumbini scored 5 points and Karnali and Gandaki scored 1 each.

APF, who lost the toss, scored 126 runs after losing 2 wickets in a game shortened to 18 overs due to anger. Captain Indu Burma scored 58 runs. She was in excellent form and hit 10 fours off 45 balls. Rajmati Airi scored only 2 runs. Mamta Chaudhary remained unbeaten with 36 off 49 balls with 1 boundary and Kavita Joshi with 13. Janaki Thapa of Sudurpaschim took 1 wicket.

In reply, Sudurpaschim lost 6 wickets and scored only 67 runs. Kavita Kunwar scored 29 runs. She hit 4 fours off 34 balls. Others did not score double. APF's Indu and Kavita Joshi took 2-2 and Savanam Rai took 1 wicket. 

Lumbini defeated Karnali by 71 runs in the final match of Group 'A'. Lumbini won the toss and scored 126 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Ranju Shrestha scored an unbeaten 51 runs. She hit 2 fours off 59 balls. Karnali gave 39 extra runs. Anju Gurung of Karnali took 3 wickets and Rama Budhathoki took 2 wickets. 

In response, Karnali was reduced to 55 runs. Apart from Rama scoring 20 runs, others did not score fast. Lumbini's Saraswati Pun took 4 wickets. Manisha Rana, Asna Chaudhary and Madhu DC took 1 wicket each. Group 'B' matches will be played from Sunday.
