The first wheelchair tennis competition in Nepal has ended. Ram Bahadur Tamang became the first in the men's competition organized by the Nepal Wheelchair Tennis Association by defeating Sagar Pandey. Ram got 15,000 and Sagar 10,000 with trophies. Khum Pandey, who came third, won a prize of 5,000.

Anukala Rai was the first winner on the women's side. She got 15,000 prize. Ganga Chantyal, who came second, got 10,000 and Jharna Rana, who came third, got 5,000.

The winner was awarded by Minister of Youth and Sports of Bagmati Province Meenkrishna Maharjan, member of National Sports Council (Rakhep) Ramchandra Shrestha and others.

Krishnahari Acharya, spokesperson of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, said that the municipality will support this organization in the production of para national athletes in the future. Malika Rana, secretary of the Nepal Tennis Association, said that infrastructure such as tennis courts and toilets will be made disabled-friendly. Chairman of Wheelchair Tennis Association Vikas Thapa informed that the National Para Games will now be held in Surkhet.

Minister Maharjan awarded certificates to Para Olympic medalist Palesha Govardhan along with Bharat Singh Mahata, Bhim Kumal and Para Taekwondo coach Kaviraj Negi Lama.  

President Thapa said that Nepal Wheelchair Tennis Association completed a month of training with the help of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality before the competition.
