The Madhesh state level Mayor's Cup football competition has started in Jaleshwar of Mahottari. Vijayakumar Gupta, the senior vice president of Madhesh Pradesh Football Association, said that the tournament started on Saturday at Jaleshwar Stadium.
According to the organizers, the players who won the district level football league from all the 8 districts of Madhesh have participated in the state league.

Jaleshwar Municipality and All Nepal Football Association have helped to complete the game. Nepal Karki, the president of the organizing organization, said that the winning players in the league will get an opportunity to play in the National Football League along with the prize.
Saturday's inaugural match was contested between Kachdia Yuva Samaj Club Rautahat and Unique Football Club Sarlahi. In that match, both teams scored one goal each and the match ended in a draw. Sarlahi scored 1 goal in 5 minutes of the first half of the game. After Rautahat scored in the 42nd minute of the second half, the match ended in a tie.
Madhesh state level mayor's cup competition was inaugurated by Suresh Shah Sonar, mayor of Jaleshwar municipality. 8 groups of players from Mahottari, Dhanusha, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Sirha and Saptari of Madhesh province are participating in the competition.
The match that started on Saturday will continue until the 13th of January, according to the organizer Madhesh Pradesh Football Association.
