Biratnagar's Nepal Police Rani team has won the title of the 2nd Triveni Cup men's volleyball tournament at Koshi state level in Hanshamorang, Chaubise Rural Municipality of Dhankuta. Police won the title by defeating Koshi Pradesh Training Center in straight sets of 26-24, 25-22, 25-23 in the final held at the confluence of Chaubise 4 and 5 at Hanshmorang.
Eight teams from Koshi region participated in the tournament organized by Triveni Sports Development Committee.
winner got 1 lakh 22 thousand 222 rupees and runner-up got 66 thousand 666 rupees. Police's Balkumar Rayamazhi was chosen as the best player. He received 2500 rupees. Roshan Shrestha from Koshi, best setter Manoj Ghimire from Koshi, Ambika Khatri from Police for best blocker, Jugal Magar from Police were awarded for best defense. They got 2 thousand rupees each. The winner was awarded by Rajendra Kumar Rai, member of the House of Representatives, Rajkumar Chemjong, Chairman of Choubise Rural Municipality and others.
The competition started from last year, Rani Biratnagar reached the final by defeating Armed Police Force Pakli and Koshi Pradesh Training Center Belbari. Roshan Bhandari, coordinator of the organizing committee informed that the organizers Triveni Sports Development Committee, Gunyahang Tamu Samaj Makalu Sankhuwasabha, Tamor Corridor Sporting and Kerabari Morang are participating in the competition.
