With the victory of Sudurpaschim Province and Nepal APF Club, the Prime Minister's Cup Women's National T20 Cricket Tournament has started in Dhangadhi from Tuesday. Sudurpaschim defeated Gandaki Pradesh by 7 wickets in the opening match at Phapla Cricket Ground in Dhangadhi.

The target of 56 runs given by Gandaki was completed by Sudurpaschim Pradesh in 9.5 overs. Revati Dhami scored an unbeaten 21 runs. She played 27 balls and hit 2 fours. Another unbeaten Shobha Rokaya added 4 runs. Manisha Bohra 9, Kavita Kunwar 8 and captain Bindu Rawal got out with 6 runs. Ashek Budhathoki and Akriti Tiwari took 1 wicket each from Gandaki. 

Before that, Gandaki, who lost the toss and was invited to bat first, scored 55 runs with the loss of 7 wickets in a match shortened to 15 overs due to bad light.

Rekha Tamang scored 13 runs and captain Srijan Paudel scored 10 runs in the match that could not start at the scheduled time due to cold waves and heat. Niruta GT 7, Shriya Shahi 3 and Salina Sen 2 runs out. Revati Dhami took 4 wickets from Sudurpaschim. She spent only 9 runs in 3 overs. Janaki Thapa and veteran Ritu Kanaujia took 1 wicket each. 

In the second match, APF defeated Karnali Pradesh by 111 runs. After winning the toss and batting first, APF scored 181 runs with the loss of 1 wicket in the allotted 20 overs on half-centuries by Mamta Chaudhary and Indu Burma. Player of the match Mamta scored 78 off 66 balls with 10 fours and Indu scored 52 runs off 34 balls with 7 fours. Rajmati Airi played 24 balls and hit 3 fours and was dismissed by Diksha Puri for 22 runs. 

In response, Karnali could score only 71 runs after losing 7 wickets. Diksha scored 17 and Rama Budhathoki and Gauri Bohra scored 10 each. From APF, Karuna Bhandari took 3 wickets and Rekha Rawal and Suman Bisht took 1 wicket each. Karuna spent only 11 runs in 4 overs. 

The tournament has started under the action plan of the National Sports Council, organized by the Nepal Cricket Association and managed by the Far West Provincial Cricket Association. The winner will get 5 lakh and the runner-up will get 3 lakh. Similarly, the organizer said that 50,000 will be given to the player of the series, 25/25,000 to the best batter and best bowler and 3,000 to the player of the match of each game.
