In the final of Jai Trophy Elite Cup cricket tournament between Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club, spinners dominated the second day's match. On Wednesday, 25 out of 26 wickets fell in the name of spinners. 22 wickets were also taken by the left-handed spinner.

Army left-arm spinner Shahab Alam took full advantage of it. He took only 11 wickets in Wednesday's match. He also made a rare record of taking 5-5 or more wickets in both innings in a day. He has taken a total of 12 wickets in the match. He has taken 33 wickets in four matches of the tournament. 

Police started the day's match with 85-2 and announced the end of the innings at 133-9. Kushal Bhurtel added just 1 run in his previous day's match and got out for 51 runs. He became Shahab's first victim in the day's match. Captain Arif Sheikh was dismissed by Shahab for zero. Arjun Saud 28, Rashid Khan 10 and Gulshan Jha were out for 6 runs. Shahab spent 37 runs in 12.4 overs and took 7 wickets and Basir Ahmed and Sompal Kami took 1 wicket each. 

The army in reply got off to a worse start. Tritraj Das was out for 8 and Santosh Karki was out for zero. Bhim Sarki scored 58 runs off 55 balls to increase the score of Army. He hit 6 fours and 3 sixes. Army was bowled out for 170 runs in 39.5 overs after Bashir played 55 balls and scored 40 runs with 3 fours, Sompal scored 32 runs and captain Vinod Bhandari scored 14 runs. Police's left-arm spinner Sagar Dhakal took 5 wickets for 78 runs in 15.5 overs, Kushal took 3 wickets and Lalit Rajwanshi and Gulshan Jha took 1 each. 

Police, trailing by 37 runs on the basis of the first innings, added 132 runs for the loss of 9 wickets by the end of the second day's play. Sagar Dhakal is 1 and Lalit Rajvanshi is at the crease for 0 while Police are leading by 95 runs only. Kushal scored 45 runs in the second innings. Dilip Nath scored 34 runs, Rashid scored 18 runs and Amrit Shrestha scored 13 runs. Captain Arif was out in 5 runs. Shahab took 5 wickets and another spinner, Basir, took 4 wickets. Thursday will be the last day of the three-day final.
