The 8th Men's and 7th Women's National Inter Volleyball Tournament has been started from Tuesday at Sukute in Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality. Organized by Nepal Volleyball Association, Sindhu Sukute Tourism Professionals Association and Sindhupalchok District Volleyball Association, three men's and four women's matches were held on the first day on Tuesday at Sunkoshi River Bank Bagar.
In which the pair of Chandra Kunwar and Safal Vick of Nepal Police Club easily won 21-10 and 21-12 sets over Navaraj Dhami Varun Thagunna of Far West Province. APF's Rajkumar Niraula and Mahendra Shrestha defeated Madhesh Pradesh's Bharat Yadav and Ibrahim Alam in sets of 21-11 and 21-10.
On the women's side, the pair of Rasmita Dura and Jasna Mahato of Nepal APF Club defeated the pair of Far West Province by 21-9 and 21-7, the pair of Anjana Limbu and Sushmita Lavati of Koshi Province defeated the pair of Anjana Chhetri and Anu Tamang of Bagmati Province by 21-8 and 21-12 of Police. The duo of Kamala Pun and Manisha Chaudhary in their first match against Sita Singh and Purnakala Khatri of Karnali Pradesh Defeated Jodi in a set of 21-4 and 21-2.
Similarly, Sunita Rai and Bhavna Dangi of Tribhuvan Army Club won against Gandaki Pradesh in sets of 21-3 and 21-13. 8 men's and 6 women's teams will compete in Wednesday's match. Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal inaugurated the competition. The competition will run until January 5th.
One male, one female team from seven provinces and one female and one male team from departmental teams are competing in the tournament. The first to fourth place will get medals and certificates with 50, 25, 15 and 10,000 respectively. Mahendrasingh Thapa, president of the Sindhu Sukuta Tourism Business Association, believes that the competition will help Sukuta's tourism.
