The first day's match between Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army Club in the final of Jai Trophy Elite Cup cricket tournament was affected due to bad weather. Only 17 overs out of 101 overs were possible in the first day's match on Tuesday due to the heat.

Nepal Police opener Dilip Nath, who won the toss and came to bat in the three-day final, was dismissed on the first ball of the day's match.

He was caught out by Sumit Shrestha by Sompal Kami. Even though the police were under pressure, Amit Shrestha, who came in after that, formed a smart partnership with another opener, the batsman, Kushal Bhurtel. They shared a partnership of 65 runs off 74 balls for the second wicket.

Amit, caught by Akash Chand off Shahab Alam, scored 20 runs off 39 balls. At the end of the first day's play, Police scored 85 runs for the loss of two wickets in 17 overs. Kushal scored 50 runs with the help of 6 fours playing 51 balls and is at the crease.

Arjun Saud is not going to open the account despite facing 13 balls. Army bowler has given 15 extra runs. Army's Sompal scored 23 in 6 overs and Shahab took 1-1 wickets with 8 runs in 3 overs and 1 maiden in 3 overs.
