Tribhuvan Army Club came close to victory against Madhesh Pradesh in Jai Trophy men's elite two-day cricket. This has also strengthened Army's chances of reaching the finals.

After losing the toss and batting at the Narayani Cricket Ground, the Army announced the end of the innings at 225-9. In the provision of maximum 60 overs to be played in the first innings, Army finished the innings in 59.3 overs.

Madhesh's opener Shailendra Sah was bowled by Akash Chand for no out. Another opener Mayan Yadav scored 11 runs off 21 balls with 1 boundary. Neeraj Yadav 8, Sahil Patel 9, Vishal Patel 3, Himanshu Dutt were dismissed for 9 runs. Captain Harishankar scored the highest 31 runs. He hit 4 fours in 43 balls. Abhishek was dismissed for 13 and Pradeep for 10 runs.

On the first day, after playing 1 over, Madhesh has scored 2 runs and the team still needs 121 runs to avoid defeat in the innings. Himanshu and Mayan are at the crease from Madhesh.
