Nepal's women's U-19 cricket team played 3 practice matches with the home team in preparation for the World Cup to be held in Malaysia next week. There was an opposing team at practice, players from the national women's team. It was half like a national team and half like a Nepal APF club.

The previous day, the Nepali U-19 team won in the last practice match. Coach Mahesh Prasad Rizal and captain Pooja Mahato felt differently. Coach Rizal says, 'We ended the training with a win, that too with a team full of national players. This has increased our confidence a lot.

Captain Pooja is also an established member of the national team. In the last practice game, she played a risky shot. "I don't want Jyotsanika (Marasini), who is on non-strike, to come and take risks, sister, you are the main player of the team, the game will be over when you are out, we will take risks," Pooja said.

Pooja tells her that she supported him strongly. "How much love and faith the team has shown towards a captain, it has made me stronger, the team has also got a positive feeling," argued Pooja. Undoubtedly, Pooja is the main player of the Nepali team. On December 16, Pooja performed as the player of the match when Nepal Women's U-19 defeated Pakistan and reached the second stage of the Asia Cup.

After nearly three weeks of training at Chitwan and Moolpani cricket grounds, the Nepali team is going to Malaysia on Saturday, where Nepal defeated Pakistan in the U-19 Asia Cup. Malaysia is a familiar land for the Nepali U-19 team, even though they are going to play the ICC U-19 World Cup for the first time. Pooja has already played in Malaysia from the national team. 

The Nepali U-19 men's team has played eight times in the U-19 World Cup. This is the first for the women's U-19 team. Secretary of Nepal Cricket Association Paras Khadka compares the team he used to play for U-19 with the current U-19 women's team and envisions a beautiful future for women's cricket.

'When Nepal's men's U-19 team showed good performance in competitions including the World Cup, it had an impact on the national team, now the U-19 women's team also has the ability to show an impact on the national team,' Secretary Khadka said, 'Many people say that we will play the U-19 World Cup. Secretary Khadka is confident that Nepal will perform well in the U-19 World Cup as well, having defeated Pakistan in the U-19 Asia Cup. Khadka, the former captain of the Nepali national team, advises the Nepali U-19 women's team to play without too much pressure. The U-19 World Cup will be held from January 18 to February 2 at various venues in Malaysia. Before that, Nepal will play U-19 World Cup practice matches against West Indies and America. 

'Participation in the World Cup is an exciting topic for a country like ours, the experience the players will get from it will be very fruitful for the future of Nepali cricket,' Rizal, who was the assistant coach of the Nepal U-19 team in the 2004 World Cup, said, 'Our challenging goal is There will be a presentation. Nepal will play Bangladesh, Scotland and Australia in the group stage. The participating 16 teams are divided into 4 groups. The top 3 teams from each group will advance to the 'Super Six'. The Super Six will consist of two groups of 6-6 teams each. From that, the top four teams will reach the semi-finals. 

"By reaching the U-19 World Cup, we have created history by defeating Pakistan in the Asia Cup, we are going to create another history by playing well in the World Cup, we are going to leave a good impression," said captain Pooja. She says that even though Nepal is going to play against big nations in the group stage, there will not be much difference in the performance of the team in the age group. Indu Burma, the captain of the Nepali women's national cricket team, says that the players of the national team are proud of the performance of the U-19 team and says that she is eager to welcome the team that will do well in the World Cup. 

Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Choudhary says that the hard work, courage and patience shown by the Nepal U-19 women's team will do well in the World Cup as well. He suggested Nepali team to play with confidence as there is not much difference in U-19.

Women's team loses prize announcement

In the farewell program of Nepal U-19 team, CAN Vice President Roshan Singh said that the government discriminated by not announcing the prize to the women's U-19 team. He drew the attention of Minister Chowdhury and said, 'When the U-19 men's team qualified for the World Cup, the government immediately announced cash prizes, but even though the women's U-19 team qualified for the World Cup for the first time, no announcement was made for them, this is a discrepancy.
