Pushpa Sadan International School Chess Championship organized by Pushpa Sadan Residential Secondary School of Kirtipur has started on Saturday.

Competition coordinator Keshav Shrestha informed that 250 students from Nepal including India are competing in U-11, U-13 and U-15 male and female groups in the three-day competition.

At the end of the second round of the first day, the students of Pushpasadan, Annapurna Mavi, Triyog High School, Swastishree Gurukul and other schools have performed well.  

The school president Mahesh Shreth said that the best 10 players of each group of the competition will be awarded based on the Swiss league system with the technical support of Nepal Buddhichal Association.

The best three schools will be selected first, second and third and will be awarded a trophy. Some interested schools from neighboring countries were also invited with the aim of taking the intellectual competition to international level. 35 players from Sikkim are participating.
