South Asian Games medal winning boxer Lalita Maharjan was honored with cash by the Kamala Karki Memorial Foundation on Saturday.

On the occasion of Kamala Karki's 9th Memorial Day, the Foundation has honored Boxer Lalita by honoring the residents of Chandragiri Municipality who have contributed in the field of sports as well as in various fields.

Lalita won a silver medal in the 13th South Asian Games held in Nepal. Representing the Army in the domestic competition, she is a medalist in the 48 kg weight group. Apart from SAG, Lalita has played three international tournaments. Lalita is also a resident of Chandragiri municipality.

On the same occasion, the foundation honored journalist Pushpa Sharma, activist Elina Maharjan, 91-year-old Veli Belwase of Ward 15 and 96-year-old Dhanmaya Shrestha of Ward 14 with cash. Everyone, including Lalita, was honored with a certificate of 15,001 rupees.
