Sadbhav won the Bangladesh Amateur Golf title

Nepali youth golfer Sadbhav Acharya has achieved one international success after another. He won the title in the 38th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship on Saturday. Sadbhav won the title by defeating Bangladesh's Shafiqul Islam and Mohammad Shahbuddin by 6 strokes. He became the first Nepali golfer to win this title.

Nepal has been participating in Bangladesh Golf since the second edition of 1988. Sadbhav won the gold in the U-21 category at the Faldo Junior Tour European Grand Final in November. He was second overall.

Sadbhav scored 1 over 73 on Saturday at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka and won the title with an overall score of 3 over 291. He completed the front nine in 2 over 38. He bogeyed the first, second and seventh holes and saved a shot on the eighth hole. He birdied the 14th and 18th holes and wasted a shot on the 15th hole. He finished in 1-under 35 on the back nine and shot 3-under 69 on the first and second day. He shot 8 over 80 on the third day. But he managed to win the title on the last day. Bangladesh's Safikul and Mohammad secured the second position with an overall score of 9 over 297. On Saturday, Safiqul finished with 1 over 73 and Mohammad finished with 3 over 75. Mohammed Samim of Bangladesh finished fourth with 11 over 299. He carded an even-par 72 on Saturday. Sri Lanka's Chalitha Pushpika, who scored 12 over 300 overall, finished fifth. He shot a poor 6 over 78. Nepal's Rahul BK shot 6 over 78 to finish sixth overall with 16 over 304. This competition became special for harmony. He won two golds. Having won the individual title, he teamed up with Rahul BK to win gold for Nepal with an even-par score of 288 in the team event. Earlier, he won the team gold along with Subas Tamang in the 36th edition.

In the four-day tournament, 100 athletes from 8 countries including Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bhutan, South Korea, Japan and Australia competed in Dhaka.
