On the occasion of Prithvi Jayanti and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Kalsun Khatun of Birganj won the girl title of the 'Run for Unity Marathon' organized in Birganj on Saturday. Preeti Patel came second and Sarita Bhool third. The student title was won by Amarnath Sah of Birganj. In the marathon, Rupesh Majhi of Bara Kohlvi was second and Rohan Majhi was third.

Winners received cups, medals and certificates along with smartphones, cash prizes and free Wi-Fi service.  More than 4,000 participants in the marathon also received discounts on various services. 

Improving Birgunj Club organized the marathon in collaboration with Birgunj Municipal Corporation. The marathon started from the Shankaracharya Nepal Gateway located on the Nepal-India border at Birganj and reached the Nepal Gateway via Ghantaghar, Adarshnagar, Chhapkaiya via Railway Road. While awarding the

winners, Rajeshman Singh, head of the Birganj Metropolitan Municipality, said that the program was organized with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle. Saran Gupta, chief executive officer of the organizing organization, said that the marathon was organized on the occasion of National Unity Day with the aim of promoting social unity and sports. In the

event, youth leader Kanchan Jha, female leader Dr. Sushma Tiwari, Kanika Kaushik, executive member of Birgunj Metropolitan Municipality and others gave their congratulatory speech.
